Phyllis Nonavee Nuber, 93, passed away on September 4, 2021. She was born on September 11, 1927. Phyllis graduated from Libbey High School. She worked for Community Traction and J.C. Penney. Phyllis, her husband Tom and son Larry were involved at Fremont Speedway racing for many years. She and Tom were very proud of Larry, who became an ESPN announcer and host of Speed Week. Phyllis was an active member of Order of Eastern Star and served as a worthy matron. She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Bernadine Reynolds, husband Tom and son Larry, brother Bill and sister Patsy. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Pat), many nephews and nieces, Frank (Darlene), Mary Francis (Jim), Carolyn (Fred) and others too numerous to list. She is also survived by step-sisters Susie and Sharon. Phyllis was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, on Thursday, September 9th from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Church of St. Andrew, UMC, 3620 Heatherdowns Boulevard, Toledo, on Friday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
