Michael J. Lewinski, 73, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family on Monday, May 1, 2017. He was born on March 28, 1944 to Walter and Isabel (Ewing) Lewinski in Pontiac, Michigan. He graduated from Libbey High School in 1962, and then proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk.. Michael married the love of his life, Mary (Hackenberg), on June 10, 1967. He spent many years employed as a Plant Manager at both Bunting Brass and Eagle Pitcher Bearings. Most of his life was spent maintaining his many rental units around Toledo. Michael cherished time with his family; he enjoyed travel, daily walks at Swan Creek Metro Park and summer days spent in their pool. He also enjoyed watching many of the sports and activities his grandchildren were involved in, often leaving one game to head to another. Michael was a passionate fan of his favorite sports teams, the Browns, Indians, Cavaliers and Buckeyes. He was also an avid enthusiast of classic American muscle cars, and enjoyed spending summer nights at car shows. Michael is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters Kellie Pawlicki of Waterville, OH and Tracy (Bruce) Mucci of Monclova, OH; 5 grandchildren, Kahlie, Kourtnie and Kyle Pawlicki and Brandon and Taylor Mucci. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Isabel (Ewing) Lewinski. Family and friends may visit at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue in Toledo on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. followed by a memorial service with Navy Military Honors at 6 p.m. Memorials in Mike’s memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
