Maryruth C. Mabbitt

Maryruth C. Mabbitt, 76, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Ohio Living Swan Creek. Maryruth graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1959. She graduated from the University of Toledo with her Master’s Degree in Education. She was a teacher for 35 years, primarily teaching at Fairfield Elementary School in Maumee. Maryruth was a member of Monroe Street United Methodist Church. She was a devoted volunteer with St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed scrapbooking and traveling at home and abroad, and playing cards with friends and family. Maryruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ruth Gomersall, and her husband Raymond Mabbitt Jr. in 2005. She is survived by her children Matthew (Jennifer) Mabbitt and Angela Mabbitt and her grandchildren Brandon, Nathen, Matthew and Lucas. Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, on Friday, Nov.3rd, from 2 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
