Larry A Matzinger

Larry A Matzinger, 80, of Toledo passed away on February 21, 2020 in St Petersburg, Florida. Larry was born on October 30, 1939 in Toledo to Alfred W. and Gertrude K. (Klink) Matzinger. Larry graduated from Libbey High School and the University of Toledo. He was an Assistant Vice-President-Manager at 5/3rd (formerly 1st National) Bank for 33 years. Mr. Matzinger also served as treasurer of the South Toledo Kiwanis Club for over 30 years. He was also a longtime member of the board of directors of the Margaret L. Hunt Senior Center. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Liam Matzinger. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Vera P. Matzinger, sons Dr. Steven A. (Michelle), Gregory P. and Mark A. (Diana) Matzinger; grand-children Niklas, Payton, Brittany, Logan, Shane, Shaun and Chase. He is also survived by one great-grandson Colton. The family will receive friends at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 2-7 pm. Funeral services for Larry will then be held at 7 pm. Interment will take place privately at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of NW Ohio or a charity of the donors’ choice.
