Judith Anne Alexander

Judith Ann Alexander (81), born in Grand Haven, MI, on September 17, 1941, finally got her longtime wish and went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, January 4, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lewis Alexander (70), who died on February 28, 1994. Even after losing her husband, Ralph, Judy remained active in her local churches, both in Monroe, MI, for a while, as well as Toledo, OH. She was well-known by her fellow church members for her enthusiastic evangelism when out in the community, as well as her infectious smile and ornery personality.

Judy served many years as an LPN and RN in both the Toledo, OH, and Kansas City, MO, areas in the 70’s and 80’s, respectively, until having to succumb to regular wheelchair use due to Post-Polio Syndrome complications in her leg & arm muscles.

The family moved to Monroe, MI, in the early 90’s. Never to be grounded, she began a consulting career with local businesses in the surrounding Toledo area in the 90’s and early 2000’s, where she assisted them in bringing their facilities up to federal standards for handicap access. She lived the last 5 years at Sanctuary at Magnolia in Wadsworth, OH.

Judy is survived by her younger brother, David Lewis, and her two younger sisters, Bonnie Lewis and Sue Glentz, as well as her two daughters, Kathy Ware and Theresa, and two sons, Ralph (Tim) and John. She also leaves behind over 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Private family gathering is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Walter Funeral Home in Toledo, followed by a public viewing from 12 to 2pm and formal service at 2pm, officiated by Pastor Dave Heaton of Bible Believers Baptist Church of Greater Toledo. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bible Believers Baptist Church of Greater Toledo or Hope Baptist Church of Toledo.
