Jeffrey R. Schwartz

Jeffrey “Badass” Richard Schwartz, 60, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 7th, 2020. Jeff was born to Richard Schwartz and Joanne Speegle in 1959 in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Libbey High School and the University of Toledo. He ventured into many business opportunities like opening a dry cleaner, a bowling alley and bar, and he owned and operated his own mortgage company for over a decade. For the past 8 years he was a self-proclaimed Head Bean Counter at Eagle Financial Services. He loved his job and everyone he worked with – he was the perfect definition of work hard, play hard. Jeff brought people together with his quick humor, big smile, and his copious generosity – his unselfish hospitality is legendary. He loved to play baseball and softball, golf, bowling, and tennis – he was a natural athlete. His favorite teams include the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Being an avid pop culture and music enthusiast, his home was always open for late night karaoke (he called it “tuning”), games, and movies. He appreciated all forms of music; especially Billy, Elton, and Stevie. He had an infectious personality; he was a giant kid at heart, and he loved to share all these passions with friends and strangers alike. His love of life will forever be a daily reminder of how truly honored we all are to have had the privilege to love, laugh, sing, and play air-piano with him. “Never give up, never surrender”. Surviving are his children, Nikki Schwartz (Dan Clark), David (Allie) Schwartz; his siblings Alan (Anna) Schwartz, Jackie (Paul) Floering, Z (Teresa) Schwartz, Lori (Bill) Robb; grandchildren, Colton, Kinsey, Caliana; and a large extended family. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; Richard Schwartz and Joanne Speegle; his stepfather Ed Speegle; his son, Thomas Salazar. Visitation at Walters Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave, Toledo, Ohio, 43614 on Friday January 10th, 2020 from 2-8 p.m. with the funeral ceremony on Saturday January 11th, 2020 beginning at 1 p.m. There will be a gathering at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Rossford, Ohio following the ceremony.
