Isabelle F Ladd

Isabelle F. (Wolber) Ladd, 92, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday March 2, 2017, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Born February 8,1925 in Ada, Ohio to Fred and Rosa (Boutwell) Wolber. Isabelle graduated from Dola High School in 1943 and entered Nurses Training at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, OH and graduated in June of 1946 and became a Registered Nurse. Isabelle worked at Maumee Valley Hospital for 3 years 1946, '47 & '48. Then in 1949 went to work in the office of Dr. Marker, Sr.; Dr. Boehm and Dr. Stevers until 1953, when she worked for Dr. Marker Jr. and Dr. B. L. Huffman, Jr. at the Trail Medical Center. She retired with Dr. Huffman from Fallen Timbers Family Physician's as Head Nurse in February, 1990 after working there 34 years. Isabelle worked a total of 42 years in doctor’s offices. Isabelle married Lewis E. Ladd, on September 1, 1946 and he precedes her in death. She is also predeceased by her parents, Sisters, Avonelle Hoffmann, Esther Athey, and Brother, Edwin Wolber. They had two children Kay (William/deceased) Jacob and Roger Ladd; 2 grandsons; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Surviving are Children, Kay and Roger, Grandsons, Craig (Leah) Jacob, Scott (Susan) Ladd, Great Grandchildren, Norah, Luke & Elena Jacob, Daryl, Lindsey, Louie & Rosemary Ladd, Brother, Jerry (Lois) Wolber, Sister In Law, Ivadean Wolber, Sisters In Law, Carol Jean Zervas, Joanne (Frank) Myrice, Carol Ladd and many nieces and nephews. Isabelle was a member of the Ohio and American Nurses Association. She was an Associate Member of the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association. She was also a member of the Office Nurses Association. She was in the first Harvard Nurses Study for 20 years. Isabelle is a long-time member of the Church of Saint Andrew United Methodist. She held many offices, including Children's Coordinator for 30 years, Chairman of the Worship Committee and helped cook for the Homeless from the church. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women. After retirement, she was active as a volunteer for the Cancer Society and the Red Cross Mobile Blood units. Visitation will be held at The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo on Monday, March 6th from 2 to 5 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Church of St. Andrew United Methodist, 3620 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo on Tuesday March 7th at 10:30 am.
