KIESWETTER Helen Elizabeth Helen Elizabeth Kieswetter, 88, of Toledo and former resident of Adrian, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Kingston Rehabilitation Facility, Perrysburg. Ohio. Helen was born in Knox, Indiana to George and Mary (Jones) Schuster. She was baptized in December, 1932 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, East Chicago, Indiana and confirmed her baptism vows at Griffith Lutheran Church on June 6, 1942. Helen married her husband Edgar Kieswetter on May 8, 1953. Helen served as church secretary at St. John’s Lutheran in Adrian, Michigan from 1965 to 1987; then as church secretary here in Toledo at Trinity Lutheran Church from 1987 to 2008. She also directed choirs at Redeemer Lutheran, South Bend, Indiana; St. John’s Lutheran, Adrian, Michigan; Trinity Lutheran, Elmore, Ohio and Trinity Lutheran, Toledo, Ohio. Her greatest joy was in serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and singing His praises. Helen is preceded in death by her parents ,and her husband Edgar (1987). She is survived by son Mark Kieswetter of Toronto, Canada; daughter Karen Shrimpton of Medina, Ohio; grandchildren Sarah (Tim) Boerst, Timothy (Karen) Shrimpton; great-grandchildren Isaac and Aliza Jayne Boerst, Alexander and Oliver Shrimpton; and brother Robert (Carol) Schuster. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 8th , from 2 to 8 p.m. at The Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, in the Rear Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Graveside committal will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Adrian, Michigan at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church Drager Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
