Harold James Mucci, 92, left this life peacefully at home on February 7, 2021. He was born to Jim and Helen (Schumacher) Mucci on February 5, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio. Harold graduated from Libbey High School in 1947, attended The University of Toledo, and honorably served his country in the U.S. Naval Reserve and Active Duty. Harold met Gloria (Sniadak) on a blind date in 1951 and they married on May 15, 1954. Their love and devotion to one another never faded. Together they have 4 children, all blessed with wonderful memories of endless camping trips, travels to Germany, Acapulco and California, and weekends on their boat together. Harold had a lifelong love for speed boats and sailing, water activities, dancing, and playing his drums. A proud Toledo Firefighter for 27 years, he retired from service in 1982. He remained active with the Firefighters Museum in Toledo as a Cellar Dweller, and enjoyed weekly breakfasts with other retirees. Also known for his master craftsmanship in hanging draperies, his talents seemed endless. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his family and friends. His enthusiasm for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was evident as their biggest fan at sporting events, recitals and plays. Harold was involved in numerous organizations in Toledo, with one of his favorites being the Zenobia Shrine. As a Shriner, he was a member of the Brass Band and the Patrol Unit, serving as Past President for both Units. He also played drums in numerous parades and drill competitions. Harold also enjoyed playing drums in the Deutschmeister Band, with the highlight in 1972 playing at the Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Harold was honored to be a Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason and member of Valley of Toledo; a 73 year member of Barton Smith Masonic Lodge #613 F. + A.M.; a member of The Royal Order of Jesters; a 50 year member of Palestine Chapter #51 O.E.S.; Maumee Elks; and “Dad Mucci” to Beatrice U. Owen Rainbow Girls.
