Elizabeth A. Gallagher

Elizabeth Antonia nee Pizza Gallagher was born on August 31, 1924, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alex and Rose Porrecca Pizza and passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at her resident at Browning Masonic Community, Waterville, Ohio. Elizabeth attended Burroughs Elementary, Longfellow Elementary, Arlington Junior High and was a 1942 graduate of Libbey High School. Elizabeth married Franklin George Gallagher on February 20, 1943. She worked for Throm’s Heating and Plumbing Supply for many years, Hankey Sales Company, Whitehouse Auto and Hardware and Maumee True Value Hardware. She was a member of the Compass Club and the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) since 1985. Elizabeth was a warm, compassionate, generous and loving mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Antoinette Meyer and her husband Franklin Gallagher. Surviving are her children Michael James (Kim) Gallagher, grandchildren Robert and Maria, great-grandchildren Nicholas and Allison, David George (Victoria) Gallagher, grandchildren Marcy and Cameron, great-grandchild Aidan, Dr. Susan Elizabeth (Patrick, deceased) Kinsella, grandchildren Matthew, Christine and Thomas, great-grandchildren Katelynn, Alivia and Cameron, Steven Alan (Kathleen) Gallagher, grandchild Kelly, great-grandchild Case. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Charitable contributions made in Elizabeth’s name may be given to the Browning Masonic Community or a charity of the donor’s choice.
