David E. Barnes

David Barnes died unexpectedly on October 22, 2018 at St. Vincent hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He attended Anthony Wayne Schools graduating in 2010. David had a love for skating. He put rollerblades on at age 5 and was off without missing a beat. He skated throughout his schoolyears, playing in the Bowling Green Youth Hockey Association and for the Anthony Wayne High School team helping the team win several division titles. Most important to David was his family and friends. He looked forward to holidays and that special time where everyone gathered. His smile captured the heart of everyone who knew him. Upon graduation, David attended BGSU and then held various positions in the area, most recently working at Boyer Steel, Inc. in Warren, Michigan. David was an organ and tissue donor and following his death his organs were sent to others for a new chance at life. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Paul and Diane Barnes, his brother Steven, girlfriend Madeline Desmond, many aunts, uncles, cousins and loyal friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roy and Shirley Barnes, Willis and Ruth Edwards and Uncle Jeffrey Edwards. Funeral arrangements and internment are private. The family ask that any memorials or contributions be given in David’s name to the Metroparks Tree House Project at Oak Openings or to the donor’s favorite charity.
