Clifford Carl Falkenberg

February 10, 1939 — February 12, 2024

Clifford Carl Falkenberg, born on February 10, 1939, in Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024 surrounded by the love of family.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sandy, daughters Lynne, Lorie, Melissa (Jay), and son Michael (Dana). His legacy continues through his grandchildren Katherine, Christine (Richard), Makayla, Makenzie, and Alec . Also left to cherish his memory are siblings June, Richard (Gitta), Beverly, Donald (Shelly), and Lynda (Jim). Cliff will also be missed greatly by his precious fur daughter, Izzie.

Cliff found joy in simple pleasures, with scratch-off lottery tickets being one of his favorite pastimes. A familiar face at either Burger King or Subway most days for lunch, he relished in the camaraderie of those around him. An avid sports enthusiast, he passionately supported the Buckeyes, Browns, and INDIANS and also enjoyed many hours on the bowling alley and golf course. We also remember Cliff as a self-proclaimed “Professional Softball Player.” From his camper to his condo, he loved finding time and places to spend vacations with family.

Cliff retired from GM in 1990 after 30 years of dedicated service; however during that time and after, he embarked on various other ventures. Many will remember Cliff from delivering the Blade, or his time co-owning and operating FB&F pizza, or even while he served the community as a crossing guard for TPS. Cliff was also a Past Master of the Sylvania Pyramid Lodge and a proud member of the Shrine. Cliff also served in the US Army Reserves.

A consummate jokester, Cliff had an unparalleled gift for making people laugh. Memories of his joke telling and his laugh continue to bring smiles, laughter, and joy to our hearts. The family finds comfort knowing that he is together again with his parents, Francis and Marguerite Falkenberg, who preceded him in death.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, where a visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19th and a service to celebrate Cliff's life, officiated by Reverend Mark Love at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 20th. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Clifford be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Cliff's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
