Cathryn K. Wright

Our beloved mother, Cathryn K. Wright, passed peacefully into the everlasting presence of her Lord and Savior on October 8, 2022 at the age of 93 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s.

Cathy was born in the Chicago area on March 3, 1929 but moved as a young girl to Norwalk, Ohio. After the death of her mother at age 13 the family eventually moved to Toledo, Ohio. On a beautiful fall day, September 30, 1950, she became Mrs. Wm. T. Wright. Cathy worked for the American Red Cross a short time before beginning her life career as a mother and nurse to 8 children along with a passion for gardening, entertaining and quilting. The home on Park Ridge Lane became the hub of activity, a gathering place for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

As a young mother, Cathy gave her heart and life to the Lord Jesus. The Bible was her guide bringing peace, joy, comfort and encouragement to the many phases of family life.

Mom was preceded by her much loved husband of 54 years, Bill and her brother, Donald (Sam) Klebold. She is survived by eight children scattered over the US and Canada, Susan Dods (Douglas), Janet Erisman (Edward), William (Louise), Betsy McClean (Mac), David (Heidi), Daniel (Sheri), Ann Marie Gibson (Brian) and Thomas (Darla). Thirty grandchildren adored their Gramma and hold many special memories. Thirty-eight great grandchildren also knew her as Gramma.

Cathy is also survived by her only sister, Mary Lou Meier (Les) and remaining brother, Thomas Klebold along with many nieces, nephews and a few cousins.

Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Friday, October 21st, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, 1520 West Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio.
