Brad was born March 10,1968 in Oberlin,Ohio to Dale and Shirley (Cave) Matcham, the fourth of five boys. The family made their home in nearby Wellington. He loved to tell stories about being a part of games of football in backyards, basketball and hockey games with his and his older brothers' friends and neighbors on McKinley Street. As a Wellington Duke, Brad excelled in basketball and tennis while also helping his dad work on his family's farm. He went on to play basketball at Western Wyoming College. He was a lifelong, long-suffering Cleveland Browns fan, also closely following the Cavs, Guardians, and Buckeye football and basketball.
Brad met his wife Laura at BGSU. They married in 1994 and raised their two sons Jason and Justin in Maumee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Grandma, Luella Cave, with whom he was very close. He is survived by Laura, Jason of Akron, Justin of Chicago as well as brothers Jed and Eric of Wellington, Todd of Lagrange and "little" brother Marc, who with his wife Alex and kids Jaxon and Anna lives in Lawrenceville, NJ.
